Terms & Conditions

Les Gîtes de L’Argile

Article 1 — Length of stay

The tenant signing a contract for a fixed period may under no circumstances claim any right to remain in the premises beyond the agreed stay.

Article 2 — Conclusion of the contract

The booking becomes effective once the tenant has guaranteed it with a valid bank card as of the start date of the stay, or by bank transfer.

Article 3 — Cancellation by the tenant

Cancellation terms vary depending on the reseller or platform through which the tenant made the booking. Those conditions apply and should therefore be consulted in the event of cancellation.

The following conditions apply only when the tenant books directly (by phone or through argile.eu):

In the event of cancellation or modification up to 30 days before the arrival date, no fee will be charged.

In the event of cancellation or modification less than 30 days before the arrival date, 30% of the rental amount will be charged.

In the event of cancellation or modification less than 72 hours before the arrival date, 100% of the rental amount will be charged.

In the event of late cancellation, no-show, or a booking marked “non-refundable”, the owner shall retain 100% of the stay amount.

In the event of a shortened stay, the amount originally agreed at the time of booking remains due to the owner.

Article 4 — Arrival

The tenant is welcomed on the specified day from 3:00 pm, or earlier depending on availability. In the event of late arrival, the tenant must inform the owner or the owner’s representative.

Article 5 — Payments and rates

The rate includes the rental of the gîte for the full duration of the stay, as well as household linen. This includes bed linen, one bath sheet and one towel per person. Tea towels and a bath mat are also provided to the tenant.

Payment to the owner may be made by: cash, bank card, VISA, holiday vouchers, or bank transfer (bank or postal cheques are not accepted).

A security deposit of €500 is required upon arrival. It is taken as a bank card pre-authorisation and returned no later than one week after the tenant’s departure.

Article 6 — Tourist tax

The tourist tax is a local tax that the tenant must pay to the owner, who then transfers it to the French Treasury. This amount may be charged to the bank card if the tenant has not paid it by another method.

Article 7 — Use of the premises

The tenant must respect the peaceful nature of the premises and use them for their intended purpose only. The tenant undertakes to return the accommodation in good condition.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the accommodation. If a smell of cigarette smoke remains after departure, an amount of €100 (ONE HUNDRED EUROS) will be deducted from the security deposit.

In the event of damage, the cost of repairs will be deducted from the deposit.

Article 8 — Pets

The contract specifies that the tenant may not stay with a pet. In the event of non-compliance with this clause, the owner may refuse the animal. This refusal may under no circumstances be considered a modification or termination of the contract at the owner’s initiative, and if the tenant decides to leave, the amount corresponding to the accommodation cost remains due to the owner.

However, if the tenant must be accompanied by an animal, such as an assistance dog for a person with disabilities, the owner simply needs to be informed in advance so that all necessary arrangements can be made.

Article 9 — Capacity

The contract is established for a specific number of guests. If the number of occupants exceeds this limit, the owner may refuse the additional persons. This refusal may under no circumstances be considered a modification or termination of the contract at the owner’s initiative. If some guests must leave because they exceed the permitted capacity, the amount corresponding to the accommodation cost remains due to the owner.

Article 10 — Insurance

The tenant is responsible for any damage caused by them. The tenant must therefore check whether their main home insurance policy includes holiday rental cover. The tenant confirms that they are covered by civil liability insurance covering both their own liability and that of the persons accompanying them.

Article 11 — Disputes

It is recommended to contact the Tourist Office, which may assist in reaching an amicable settlement of disputes:

within the first three days after arrival for any dispute relating to the inventory or description of the premises;

at the end of the stay for any other dispute.

For all disputes arising from the performance or interruption of this contract, only the courts having jurisdiction over the location of the rented property shall have jurisdiction.

Article 12 — GDPR / Personal data

We handle tenants’ personal data with care and respect. The information we collect is used solely for communication and management purposes related to our activity. This information is not shared, not sold, and not used for any purpose other than properly fulfilling the contractual relationship described here.

The tenant may at any time consult, modify, or request deletion of their personal information by using the dedicated space communicated in the initial booking confirmation message.
